Sandra (Sass) Lassley was born to paint.... literally. Her father, Marty Stiefel opened “Stiefel Painting & Decorating” in 1964, before she was walking. As a small girl she would ride around town in her father's van and open the can of glitter her Dad kept there (used on ceilings in those days) thinking he was the luckiest man alive to have a job that included using materials like these. Never could she or her Father have imagined the scope of sophisticated and beautiful painted finishes that would flood the market in the following two decades and the career that awaited her! In 1989 her Father sent her to study with Ina Brosseau Marx, internationally renowned teacher of fine faux finishes at The Finishing School in New York, Sandra returned from school and Fe Fi Faux Studios Inc. was born!

     Sandra has continued her education and stayed current with the latest design trends by attending the finest teaching studios in the country, including Miller Wagenaar Studios in Chicago and The Faux Institute in Denver, Colorado and Kelly S. Kings Institute of Decorative Finishes here in Nebraska. Sandra attended the Fauxcademy Awards Competition in 2001 in Key West, Florida, 2003 in Las Vegas Nevada and 2006 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas ...networking with some of the most accomplished artisans in the country. Sandra and her crew were proud to bring home 5 awards from the Fauxcademy in June of 2006, including Best Kitchen in the nation and Best Recreational Hearth Room, as well as three nominations for Best Architectural Feature, Best Sample Creation and Most Creative Use of a Faux Finish for a pair of old boots she resurrected with the application of a faux reptile skin. A recent European tour was a highlight studying and photographing hundreds of aging old world walls.

     Sandra's work has been featured in "Open House" , a magazine of interior design and architecture, "From House to Home," "Omaha World Herald," "Remodel Omaha," 'Profiles In Faux Finishing" and "Street of Dreams Magazine" as well as countless Symphony show homes. She and her professional crew have completed projects all over the state of Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota. She and her crew pride themselves on their imaginative and impeccable cutting edge finishes including the latest European and Venetian plasters on the market and they strive to bring the craft of faux finishing to the level of artistry.

     Jeff comes to Fe Fi Faux Studios with 17 years experience in the building trades and 16 years in graphic art and design. Sandra and her crew call him “the plaster man” and he has the forearms to prove it! His expertise lies in distressed and textured old world finishes, Venetian and Marmorino plasters. Sasha has been in the studio with her Mother since the age of eight. “My Mom would show me sample boards and ask me which I thought would go with a particular carpet sample” Sasha says. “She always drew my attention to color and design explaining what worked and why. I have grown up with finishes and could not imagine my surroundings without them!” Sasha is an experienced finisher with 12 years experience at Sandra's side and now enjoys designing custom finishes of her own.
